How We Help Education Centres

We’ve been helping all types of education centres through our graphic design and printing services since 2005, and over 30% of our annual business now supports the Education and Learning & Development sectors. It’s a relationship we’re very proud of that has resulted in mutual benefits for all parties, including shaping the Print Storage and Distribution side of our business to help multi-location education and training centres across the UK and Europe.

At the heart of our support services are graphic design and print (both small and large digital format printing). These enable us to cover pretty much every aspect of what universities, colleges, academies, and schools require: from welcome packs, ID cards, lanyards, and signage (to help students with their first days on campus), to prospectuses and promotional brochures (designed to attract the next generation of students).

Helping students settle in

We also cover typical day-to-day collateral that lecturers, teachers, and students need: from notebooks and folders to flashcards and eBooks. We can even print City or Town Guides so students can quickly find their feet and feel more settled at their new location.

Working with the Brighton Institute of Modern Music

A prime example of how our services have expanded to help education centres is the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. The BIMM consists of a group of independent colleges with over 7,000 students across Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Dublin, Berlin, and Hamburg.

IQ Digital House worked with BIMM, liaising with their design team to take their artwork forward to print a range of collateral that promoted the colleges, and provided useful information for students.

Some of the items required were for identification on college premises (e.g., ID cards and lanyards), while others, such as the Prospectuses, were used to help BIMM attract and inform students. One of the most popular items were the City Guides, particularly given the college’s vibrant location cities and towns.

BIMM also elected to make use of our storage and distribution service, using part of the 200 m2 of space available at our base. The college’s administration teams are able to access our online management system to check stock levels 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They can then order what they require and our team pack and distribute the items to wherever they are needed. Our fulfilment services are very flexible, providing options to personalise material to be sent directly to each student’s home address or, where bulk orders are required, we can send these to specific colleges (including international centres).

It’s a great system that reduces storage needs at any educational facility, while ensuring printed collateral is safely stored and ready to send out.

Lisa Mortimore, Commercial Director at IQ Digital House comments: “We’re delighted to have extended our services over the years to create a central hub facility that benefits the universities, colleges, and schools we work with. Part of my role is to help customers use the most cost-effective print options available for their projects, so their budgets are used wisely. Customers also learn a lot about the way graphic design and print can help them with small and large projects, from invitation leaflets used to promote Open Days, to exhibition-style stands for use at larger events. And, as we can store everything for customers, they don’t have to find space at their location.”
