It all Starts with Graphic Design
from Your Team or Ours
Graphic Design
Graphic design drives everything we print, but the source varies considerably. Although we have our own dedicated team of graphic designers, a high percentage of our printing work is undertaken for graphic designers from all sorts of companies and organisations, as well as self-employed graphic designers, graphic design agencies, and print management companies.
The following information explains more about our work with external graphic designers and our in-house team.
OUR OTHER SERVICES
This covers small items, such as business cards, leaflets, brochures, and Direct Mail. You can find out more about our Small Format Printing services here.
This covers larger items, such as posters, roller banners, signage, and Exhibition Stands. You can find out more about our Large Format Printing services here.
For customers who need printed collateral stored offsite. Online stock checking, ordering, and distribution also available. You can find out more about our Print Storage & Distribution services here.
Working with External Graphic Designers
A significant proportion of our work supports the requirements of graphic designers from two major sources:
- Customers, companies, and other organisations with in-house graphic design teams.
- Graphic Design Agencies, Graphic Design Consultants, Self-Employed Graphic Designers, Print Management Companies, and Marketing Companies offering graphic design as a service to their clients.
Our main support role for both groups is to act as their “preferred provider” for printing work. Much of this is consultative, helping them to choose the best paper type, best materials, and whatever else is required to print the artwork they have produced for their employer or clients. This can vary from simple business cards or leaflets, through to large format signs, promotional merchandise, packaging, or even exhibition stands.
Our secondary role is providing ancillary graphic design support through IQ Digital House’s graphic design team. This typically occurs if graphic designers from either group are fully occupied on major projects and they need to outsource less important design work, e.g., amending existing artwork. Our design team’s talents can also be relied on to produce artwork from scratch for more urgent items (adhering to a supplied brief and Brand Guidelines as part of the process).
Scope of Work
The scope of the work we can complete for both small format and large format printing is very comprehensive, which is why many graphic designers use us as their central hub for all types of printing. In some cases, we are asked to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements, which we are happy to do, and we can also distribute printed items under plain packaging (if required).
Some customers also use our Print Storage and Distribution Service, making use of the 200 m2 of storage space available at our base to store brochures, leaflets, lanyards, folders, exhibition stands, and any other printed collateral they need stored offsite.
Our “In-House” Graphic Design Service
If a customer does not have a graphic designer, we are able to offer the services of our in-house graphic design team. This service is often used by sole-traders, self-employed businesspeople, and smaller businesses. But larger companies, organisations, and charities use this facility too.
The items we receive most requests for from external graphic designers are:
- Roller Banners
- Business Cards
- Leaflets & Flyers
- Posters
- Stickers
- Datasheets
- Brochures
- Workbooks
- Signage
- Exhibition stands & graphics for stands
Print Personalisation
We have seen an increase in the volume of work requiring QR codes, which we incorporate into designed material (and is increasingly being used for direct mail projects).
The Direct Mail element of our design and print work can be used to provide personalised postcards and letters for use in direct marketing projects, distribution of important information to students, trainees, or customers, and any other projects where small, medium, or large-scale mailing is a key requirement.
We regularly handle data merging as part of this service. Customers can combine this with our internal fulfilment and distribution service if they want the entire operation handled by us, or we can provide the merged printed material to them for distribution (or send it to their preferred external fulfilment/mailing house).
One of our most innovative in-house design, print, and fulfilment options utilises software (XMPie) that can create unique designs for every individual listed in a database. For instance, brochures can be designed and printed to contain completely different content, text, and images inside; effectively creating a unique brochure for each person listed in the dataset. What’s more, we can achieve this using a single print run to cover all of the named individuals (making this a highly cost-effective way to produce individually personalised printed material).
Most of our in-house graphic design works centres around:
- Leaflets & Flyers
- Roller Banners (Pull-Up Banners)
- Exhibition Graphics
- Logo Design
- Amendments to existing artwork
- Brochures
- Workbooks
- Display Stands
- Banners (typically for events & festivals)
- Direct Mail (including postcards & letters)

This is another option our in-house graphic design team can provide. We already produce digital artwork for digital brochures, Infographics, eBooks, Social Media graphics, and presentations, so if this is a service you would like more details on please contact us to find out how this may benefit your business or organisation.
Artwork Files
We can work with artwork from any software package or platform, for example: Photoshop, Adobe, Illustrator, InDesign or Canva. Artwork files should be provided as High Resolution PDFs for printing with crop marks and bleed (where applicable).
